Do these things to improve English!

  • Find out a friend who also wants to improve his or her English and have lunch or dinner with him/her. Make it a habit and utilize the whole time for communicating in English. If you don't have enough time to go out and meet people at least you can chat a little by telephone. Take a strong decision both of you to speak in English, only in English
  • Read a book with lots of dialogues. Dialogue is also much easier to understand than descriptive parts of a book, and is much more like the language you will want to learn in order to be able to speak English in an easy way. Buy conversation practice books and study them carefully.
  • When you get up in the morning, listen to English news on radio, watch an English TV channel, or read an English newspaper without missing.
  • Write something in English! Even if you only write one sentence a day, this will help you focus and THINK in English. So write something every day in English language.
  • If you want to improve your English speaking ability, then you have to spend enough time for that; at least half an hour per day.
  • Focussing on mistakes makes you feel shy, which makes you speak less. So don’t worry of making mistakes in the initial stage, just go on speaking!

If you follow these things no doubt you can improve your English speaking skill. Best of Luck!

Problems for Ineffective Communication

  • Poor Vocabulary: If the vocabulary is limited, then we use the same words again and again. Also we find our self-struggling with words. A good vocabulary helps the speaker to use multiple words for conveying the same message. Keeping this in mind, we should develop our vocabulary time to time.
  • Lack of practice: By having good English material and knowing how to improve communication is not enough, you have to practice it consistently and then only you can be successful as a good speaker in English.
  • Fear & anxiety: Most of the people get over anxious when asked to speak in front of many people. The more you believe that speaking in front of a crowd is difficult, the more difficult it will be.
  • Issue of reputation getting damaged: It happens that when we are unable to speak clearly and fluently or even make mistakes in basic sentences, then people laugh at us. This damages our reputation in our own eyes. This is one of the biggest fears which need to be conquered.
  • Memory loss while speaking in English: When we are over anxious in speaking, then our memory also vanishes. We forget the basic lines that we had learn by heart. This happens a lot of time to many people. Stay calm, and tell your brains that it's all right to converse normally. If you can handle your anxiety, then the effect of memory loss is very much minimized.
  • People will laugh at me: If you think that people will laugh at you in case if you make a mistake, you can’t speak fluently. So just erase the feeling from your mind and try to speak in English whenever you get an opportunity.

Read more & improve your English!

Francis Bacon rightly opined that reading makes a man complete. The more you read the more knowledge you gain. Reading is a skill which improves your English speaking skills also. Make a habit of reading regularly. Read as many English books, newspapers and magazines as you can daily.

v Choose an author whom you like most and read their works. Observe very carefully how the sentences are formed; choice of words and expressions used.
v  One of the advantages of reading is you can guess and learn more words in context. Concentrate on what you read and try to find out it’s meaning by intelligent guessing. Later on you can refer to a dictionary.
v  Read the easiest English daily newspaper, children’s novels and magazines regularly.
v  Buy English grammar & spoken English books which can be easily understood by you without seeking help from anybody. By reading these types of books you can learn English within no time.

My English Learning Experince!

HOW I LEARNED ENGLISH?

I request you to please read this entire article patiently which will help you a lot.

At the outset, I want to tell you one thing that I was not good speaker of English for about a decade ago. I kept on thinking what I should do in order to speak reasonably correct English without any flaws. “Necessity is the mother of invention” – this is absolutely a correct proverb. I wished strongly that I wanted to learn & speak English – that intensity & desire simply laid a path and made me a good speaker of English.

Remember, my dear friends! If you are sincere, hardworking and dedicated to your work or life God will always extends his support and will show you a way!

Coming back to my learning experience of English language – firstly, I joined a spoken English institute but was failed to learn English. The second and third attempts were also failures only. But fortunately in the fourth attempt, I happened to meet a good Master and with his tips and instructions at last I learned English. During my learning process of English language I did following things regularly without fail –
  1. Learning English Grammar rules with utmost care.
  2. Using and implementing these rules with the people whom I knew very well.
  3. Carefully observing each and every sentence how it is formed.
  4. Listening to the people who are good at English without allowing a single thought.
  5. Reading more and more novels especially of the greatest R.K. Narayan’s and English newspapers for two hours daily.
  6. Continuously trying to improve my vocabulary.
  7. Never thought negatively about myself and my knowledge despite the fact that I was from Telugu medium background.

With these types of practices I have learned English within no time. So, my dear precious student friends – you must have a strong desire and zeal to learn English and work hard sincerely by putting all your efforts. This is THE SECRET TO LEARN ENGLISH LANGUAGE.

Wishing you all the very best!
Yours –
